Characterized as the twisted, ropey veins that protrude from the surface of the skin, varicose veins are typically treated for aesthetic reasons, but this condition can also be accompanied by uncomfortable symptoms. Varicose veins are a common condition that affects millions of people a year. At Ever Clinici, we offer multiple laser treatments to safely and effectively clear these unappealing varicose veins from your skin including endovenous laser treatments and sclerotherapy.
What Causes Varicose Veins ?
Varicose veins can develop as a result of several environmental, genetic, and occupational factors, including:
Lack of physical exercise
Careers that require prolonged standing or sitting
A history of blood clots
The aging process
Generally, varicose veins are caused by the pooling of blood in the veins as it tries to flow against gravity from the lower extremities back up to the heart,in some cases may be accompanied by pain. When the veins become varicose, the walls of the veins stretch out and allow the blood to flow in both directions, which can lead to several uncomfortable symptoms such as aching, swelling, pain and heaviness in the legs.
How is Varicose Veins Treated ?
At Ever Clinic, we specialize in minimally-invasive vein treatment techniques that not only clear your skin of cosmetically unappealing veins, but that also treat veins at the source and significantly reduce the probability of the condition returning. Unlike the painful vein stripping procedures of the past, our techniques require minimal disruption to your normal activities.
Endovenous Laser Vein Ablation
Using ultrasound guidance we insert a thin laser fiber into the affected vein through a tiny catheter in the skin. The laser energy converts to heat, collapsing the vein, and rerouting the blood into the healthy veins. The treated vein is eventually absorbed by the body.
Endovenous Chemical Vein Ablation
Another safe alternative to surgery, endovenous chemical ablation uses ultrasound guidance to inject a medicated sclerosing substance into varicose veins that are not visible at the surface and can be difficult to treat by other means. The solution disrupts the lining of the vein walls, causing it to permanently seal off. The blood is redirected, and the vein is eventually removed by the body.
Which Treatment is Right for Me?
During your consultation, Dr. Flores will assess your unique vascular condition and help you determine which varicose vein treatment is best for you. Our treatments have a high success and patient satisfaction rating, with the laser treated varicose veins returning in only two percent or less of patients.
